Eileen June Krizmanich's Obituary
Eileen J. Krizmanich, age 82, of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Saturday, June 1, 2024. Eileen was born on July 20, 1941, the loving daughter of the late Stephen and Betty (Cole) Krupko.
Eileen grew up in Uniontown where she attended local schools, graduating from St. John’s High School. She went on to enjoy several office positions in data processing with UPMC and CCAC. However, the job that Eileen was most proud of was being a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother.
Eileen was an active volunteer alongside her husband at Meals on Wheels and St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, where she was also a faithful parishioner. She was an avid fan of Pittsburgh Sports and enjoyed following the Pirates games. She always knew the scores and never missed an opportunity to cheer her kids and grandkids on in their own sporting events. She was a dog lover, a collector of teacups, and had a green thumb when it came to gardening.
Eileen enjoyed the moments with her family the most. She loved entertaining at her home when they came for visits and cherished the memories they made with one another. She was known to always have a wonderful home cooked meal ready and was an excellent baker with her apricot rolls and 7-layer bars being a family favorite.
Eileen is survived by her three beloved children, Linda (Barry) Zug, Mark (Jodi) Krizmanich, and Michael (Britt) Krizmanich; and her grandchildren, whom she adored, Michael Krizmanich, Charlie Krizmanich, Alexandria Krizmanich, Garrett Zug, Annika Krizmanich, Linnea Krizmanich, Lars Krizmanich, and Maja Krizmanich. Eileen also leaves her brother, Edmund (Fatima) Krupko, many nieces and nephews, and her furry companion, Bella.
In addition to her parents, Eileen was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Anthony “Tony” A. Krizmanich.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 from 1:00 – 3:00 and 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 10:00 am at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, 1 Grove Place, Pittsburgh PA, 15236. Burial to follow at Jefferson Memorial Park.
