Eileen S. Gemmell's Obituary
Eileen S. Gemmell, age 86, of Jefferson Hills, passed away on July 20, 2025.
Eileen had a passion for life that was reflected in her love for the outdoors. She cherished vacations at the beach and enjoyed countless days by the pool, always soaking up the sunshine-her favorite. Eileen and her husband were the proud owners of a boat on Lake Erie affectionately named the "Sunshine Lady."
Eileen had a sophisticated charm; she made friends wherever she went and had the incredible ability to strike up a conversation with anyone. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy. The mention of their names brought on her undivided attention. Her warm spirit and engaging personality will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Eileen is survived by her husband William Gemmell; children William Gemmell, Jr., Thomas (Patti) Gemmell, and Gail (the late Pete) Hric; grandchildren Peter, Eric (Katie), Abigail, and Michael (Jessica).
Eileen is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Sarah Tierney, a son, and her brother Edward.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, 15236. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 24 at 10:00 at at Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Thomas A'Becket worship site, 139 Gill Hall Road, Jefferson Hills, PA 15025. Family asks for everyone to please meet at the church. Burial to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
