Eileen Fera's Obituary
Eileen L. (Lis) Fera, age 84, a resident of South Hills Square, formerly of Baldwin Borough, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025.
Beloved wife of the late Nicholas Fera Jr. for 65 years, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Julia Lis, Mother of the late Nicholas Fera III, Renee Fera (Carl Ganster), Diane (Chuck) Bettilyon, and Lisa Fera. Grandmother of Patrick (Ashley) Oakes, Jessica (Tim) Merolillo, Lindsay (Brad) Ruth, Ashley Bettilyon (Brandon Miller), Matthew Bettilyon, Steven Ganster, Lauren Ganster (Chris Priore). Great Grandmother of six: Bentley and Brody Oakes, Sophia and Amelia Merolillo, Riley and Emily Ruth. Sister of the late Dolores Zgurich, Eugene Lis, Dennis Lis, Mary Ann Jackowski. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Eileen lived a life defined by selflessness and unwavering love. A devoted mother of four, she faced life's challenges with remarkable strength and grace, always putting others before herself and greeting each day with a smile.
Her home was a haven of comfort and generosity-you were never hungry when you visited. She delighted in preparing homemade stuffed cabbage, kielbasa, potato salad, and cookies, each dish a reflection of her nurturing spirit.
For 62 years, she lovingly cared for her son, Nicholas Fera II, who had Cerebral Palsy-a testament to her enduring compassion and resilience. Her journey led her to South Hills Square in Whitehall, where she sold her home and embraced a vibrant new chapter. There, she cultivated cherished friendships and filled her days with joy and connection.
Eileen's calendar was always full, reflecting her zest for life. She found delight in Rummikub, Bingo, Mah Jong, puzzles, cards, Canasta, and lively trips to the casino. Her evenings were never complete without a comforting cup of tea and a sweet treat-a simple ritual that captured her gentle spirit.
Her legacy is one of love, courage, and quiet strength. She touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
