Edward John Wirth's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Edward John Wirth
With heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Edward John Wirth on February 5, 2025, at the age of 70. His sudden departure has left his family and friends deeply saddened and shocked.
Ed is lovingly remembered by his devoted fiancée, Sherry, and his cherished children: Denelle (Matt) Suranski, Dawn Wirth, and Julie (Kevin) Major. He was a proud and adoring grandfather to Steven, Chris, Tyonna and Arionna; also cherished by Sherry's children Stacey, Jeffrey, Tyler, as well as her grandchildren Ainsley, Daniel and Edwin.
He will be forever missed by his siblings and their families: Mary Ellen, Chuck & Deb, and Barb & Mike. His memory will also live on through his many nieces and nephews.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Ellen, and his beloved nephew, AJ.
Born in Pittsburgh and raised in Hopewell, Pennsylvania, Ed had an adventurous spirit and a deep love for life. He proudly served in the Army, working on helicopters, later built a career spanning 30+ years in bathroom refinishing and was a member of the Baldwin United Methodist Church.
A two-time cancer survivor, Ed lived each day with gratitude and passion. He found immense joy in spending time with Sherry and his family, creating lasting memories on trips to Mexico, the Northeast Coast, Jamaica, Nevada, and numerous camping adventures across Pennsylvania.
He was a man of many passions-fishing, gardening, cooking, bowling, riding his motorcycle with the VFW, and watching hummingbirds. If there was a free live concert, you could always count on Ed being there, embracing every moment.
Ed was outgoing yet humble, with a kind heart that touched everyone he met. His legacy of love, laughter, and service will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
In honor of Ed's memory, we encourage everyone to live life to the fullest and spread kindness wherever they go.
Friends and family will be received from 2-4pm, 6-8pm on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills, PA, 15236.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12pm in the Funeral Home Chapel on Monday February 10, 2025.
Burial will be handled by the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Denelle Suranski.
