Edward William Grassel's Obituary
Edward William Grassel, age 90, of Pleasant Hills (formerly of Carrick), passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, September 6, 2021.
Loving husband of 65 years, to Pearl. Beloved father of Eddie Grassel, Jill Gudenburr (Doug), Cindy Liberi (Andy Galioto), and Tim Grassel (Patty). Cherished Pap of Edward (Kelly), Ashley, Leah (Cody), Joshua, Douglas, Ricky, and Lauren; great-pap of Layla, and Ezra. Loving brother of Doris Croy and Lois Fisher. Edward is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Beloved son of his late parents, Edward and Elizabeth Grassel.
Ed was a man respected and loved by his family. He was a Korean War Veteran in the 2nd Armored Division. Ed was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and was employed as a mechanical engineer. He was an active member of the American Legion and the Shady Avenue Lake Association. Ed enjoyed golfing, gardening, auction going, and watching all Pittsburgh sports. Above all, he enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family and friends at Conneaut Lake.
Family and friends are welcomed on Friday, September 10, 2021 from 1 to 8 pm & Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 10 am until 12 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 12 pm in the Funeral Home's Chapel.
Interment to follow at Jefferson Memorial Park with Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Ed's name may be made to Shady Avenue Associates, C/O 1401 South Pugh Street, State College, PA 16801.
