Edward Lydon's Obituary
Edward Lydon, age 90, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 26, 2025.
Edward was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. He was well known in Pittsburgh's Greenfield neighborhood as a coach for the Greenfield Baseball Association. He had a long time career with Jones and Laughlin (later known as LTV) Steel as a Millwright Supervisor. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War earning himself a medal of good conduct.
Edward is survived by his five sons Denis (Merrie Beth), Edward, Thomas (Angie), Pat (Sandy) and Chris (Heather) Lydon; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister Agnes Turnbull and Sister-in-law Betty Mazon.
He is preceded in death by his loving spouse Dolores Lydon, parents Denis and Sarah Lydon and siblings Mary Catherine Jeffries, Thomas and Joseph Lydon.
Family and friends are invited to visitation on Sunday, March 2, 2025 from 12-2pm and 4-6pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home 301 Curry Hollow Rd. Pittsburgh, PA 15236.
Services for Edward Lydon will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 9:30 am at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with committal at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
