Edna "Dorothy" Menzer's Obituary
Age 94, of Canonsburg and Pittsburgh, peacefully embarked on her next adventure on January 14, 2019.
Edna is survived by her loving children, Linda (Thomas) Sager, Patty (the late Mark) Evans and Leonard Sackel. Adored Gram of Tommy (Beth) Sager, Shelly Sager, Jeremy (Casie) Sager, Melanie (Tony) Cargioli, and Alison Evans; G-G of Grace Sager, Ari Sager, and Lucca Cargioli. Sister of Oliver (the late Verna) Evans; as well as Aunt Dorothy to many nieces and nephews, and friend to many.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leonard Sackel and second husband, William Menzer; parents, Arthur and Emma Evans; Daughters, Dorothy "Dookie" Sackel and Karyn Sackel; siblings, Wilma Lackner, Arthur Evans and Evelyn Chance.
Dorothy loved and cherished her role as a mother, grandmother and nanny, always making time for them. She was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, especially the Steelers. Dorothy, being the youngest girl, loved and cherished her sisters, Wilma and "Ebby", today they are dancing in the sky. She also cherished her brothers, Arthur "Buck" and Oliver "Ollie". Dorothy will be forever missed and kept in our hearts.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 2 to 4 pm & 6 to 8 pm at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pleasant Hills, 15236. A Blessing Service will be held Sunday, January 20, 2019, 12:00 pm in the funeral home's chapel. In lieu of flowers, donation to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org or to the ASPCA at www.aspca.org . Online condolences may be left at www.jeffersonmemorial.biz.
