Edmund M. Burke's Obituary
Edmund M. “Ed” Burke, age 82, of South Park, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 28, 2024. He was born in Pittsburgh on September 26, 1941, the son of the late Edmund M. Burke, Sr. and Margaret P. McClean.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Carol M. Burke; his brother, David (Jean) Burke; and brother-in-law, Jack (Julie) Emes, as well as his nieces, nephews, and many cousins. Ed also leaves his two furry companions, Turner and Rocket, or “the boys” as he affectionately called them.
Ed enjoyed a long career of 40 years with the former Bell Telephone Company, retiring from Lucent Technologies. He worked as a phone system installer providing equipment for offices. He was an avid collector of records, his favorite being the oldies.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 from 2:00 – 6:00 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A blessing service will be held in the chapel at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 11:00 am. Burial will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in honor of Ed may be made to the Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh, 1101 Western Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15233.
