Joe and Sarah
I just stumbled across this and I’m so sorry your mom passed away. Joe and I were good friends from about 4th or 5th grade and all through school. Mrs. Gordon was a lovely and wonderful person. I always admired how strong of a woman she was raising Joe and Sarah by herself. Mr. Gordon had passed away before Joe and I became friends. I remember going to see a lot of movies and weekly trips to the South Hills Village National Record Mart in her green Chevy Citation. I can only remember one time when she got mad at us. We used to find old electronics and take them apart. Then we would run an extension cord out in the yard and blow them up. I think she only got mad because all the lights would dim when we did this. And we did it for hours on end. I also remember watching Sarah growing up and getting into typical big brother little sister arguments with Joe. I no longer live in the Pittsburgh area and only found out Mrs. Gordon passing just before typing this. I would have been there had I known about it. It’s been probably 30 years since I have seen or spoken to Joe and Sarah and hope you are both doing well.
God bless
