Dorothy (Dick) De Santis' Obituary
Dorothy (Dick) DeSantis, 95, of Asbury Heights, Mt. Lebanon, formerly of Bethel Park, Monroeville, and Carrick, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2021, following goodbyes with daughters Lynda Miller (late Albert) of Castle Shannon and Phyllis Naples (Louis) of Bethel Park. Dorothy was born to the late William Charles and Pauline (Miskove) Dick on August 7, 1925. She is preceded in death by former husband, Felix J. De Santis, and grandson Adam Jones. Surviving her is grandson Allen (Leah) Jones and granddaughters Sierra, Sabrina and Miranda Jones and great-granddaughter Tierra Jones.
Dorothy graduated from Penn High School. She retired as a waitress from the Greentree Holiday Inn. Dorothy loved skating, in her earlier years, and danced into her late 80’s - ballroom, square dancing, round dancing, line dancing, and even some disco. Among the many other activities Dorothy enjoyed bingos and playing cards with friends.
Dorothy’s daughters extend sincerest gratitude to Asbury staff for their support, loving care and friendship during her time at Asbury.
Visitation will be at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Wednesday, May 12th, 2021.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 10am on Thursday, May 13th, 2021. Burial will be private. All Covid-19 guidelines of masks, social distancing and a limit of 25 people will be required.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the UPMC Family Hospice or Asbury Benevolent Fund, 700 Bower Hill Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15243; or a charity of your choice.
