Whispers of Remembrance
By Bob Shandor
In the quiet hush of memory’s embrace,
Where time and tears intertwine,
I find you, Doris, among the stars,
A constellation of kindness that forever shines.
Your laughter, a melody woven in the wind,
Echoes through the corridors of my heart,
And your eyes—oh, those gentle windows—
Held galaxies of compassion from the very start.
You were more than a name, more than years,
An irreplaceable chapter in life’s grand design,
A friend, a confidante, a beacon of grace,
A love that transcends the boundaries of time.
In the warmth of your words, I found solace,
A refuge from life’s tempests, a safe harbor,
For you knew the magic of simple gestures—
A smile, a hug, a whispered “bonsoir.”
And when the frost of sorrow settled upon my soul,
You were there, like a sunbeam breaking through,
Guiding me toward hope, stitching broken seams,
Teaching me that love’s legacy forever renews.
So, here’s to you, dear Doris, in the celestial expanse,
Where constellations twinkle with memories spun,
May your spirit dance among stardust and dreams,
And may your kindness live on in each rising sun.
For you were more than a name, more than years,
An eternal flame of goodness that will never end,
My best friend, my confidante, my mother,
Forever cherished, forever missed, forever my friend.
May your light continue to shine brightly in my heart,
and your kindness inspire me always.
