Donald Paul Kaminski's Obituary
Donald P. Kaminski, 91, of Pittsburgh, PA., peacefully embarked on his next adventure on Sunday, September 15, 2024.
Growing up on the South Side Slopes of Pittsburgh, he graduated from St. Casimir, played baseball and had several tryouts with professional teams. He continued playing baseball while serving with the US Army in Alaska and after he returned to Pittsburgh. Eventually, his love of baseball transitioned to softball where he played on the St. Winifred Mens softball team and eventually won a Senior Softball World Series ring with his age group team. Donald was also a basketball official in the WPIAL, an avocation he enjoyed for over twenty years.
Donald is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Bernadine (Bakowski) Kaminski, with whom he traveled often to Alaska and around the country playing softball and visiting their many friends. He was the loving father of Donald (Tiffany) Kaminski, Jeffry (Stacey) Kaminski, and Bonnie (David) Schneider. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Pete (Michelle), Victoria (Elyse), Eric, Stefany, and Holly and two great-grandchildren: Joanna and Mallory. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Cecelia Kaminski.
Services are Private and have been entrusted to the care of Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Park in Pittsburgh, PA.
