Donald J. Baumgart, Sr.'s Obituary
Donald J. Baumgart, Sr., of Mount Oliver, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at the age of 86. He was born on May 21, 1938 in Pittsburgh, PA of the late Edward and Emma Baumgart.
Donald was the proud owner of Don's Bar in Mount Oliver from 1959 until the day of his death. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends at "The Farm". Later in his life, he always found time to support his grandchildren at their various activities.
He is survived by three sons, DJ (Barbara) Baumgart of Centreville, VA, Glen (Mary) Baumgart of Baldwin, PA, and Richard (Amy) Baumgart of Pittsburgh, PA. Grandfather of Gina (Jake) O'Brien of Centreville, VA, Donald (Leslie) Baumgart of Gainsville, VA, Rebecca (Evan) Franke of Fairfax, VA, Joey Baumgart of Centreville, VA, and Abigail, Kaylie, and Luke Baumgart of Pittsburgh. Great-grandfather of McKenna, Aubrey and Reese O'Brien and Cameron Franke. Brother in law of Pauline Baumgart. Donald is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Janice G. (Dunbeker) Baumgart and siblings Edward (Marie), Robert (Jean), Lois (Joseph) Nee, Paul (Mary), and Ralph.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Sunday, April 6 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 7 at 10:00 am at St. Paul of the Cross Parish, St. Anne Church, 400 Hoodridge Drive, Castle Shannon, PA 15236. Burial to follow at Saint John Vianney Cemetery.
