Don Leslie Myers' Obituary
Don L Myers
of Whitehall Borough, passed away suddenly Monday afternoon in his home. He was born in Magnolia, Ohio to the late Donald and Darlene Myers, and has lived in Pittsburgh since 1974. Don was a 1969 graduate of Sandy Valley High School and a 1974 graduate of Kent State University. He spent most of his career in industrial sales, and was most recently working at Lowe’s, post retirement, where he enjoyed his days and coworkers.
He was the beloved husband of Kathleen L. Myers, with whom he celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary on October 19th; loving father of Brandon and Susan Myers of Pittsburgh, and Sean and Amy Myers of West Bloomfield, MI. He cherished his beloved grandchildren, Alexander, Mackenzie, Elizabeth, Scarlette and Kristofer of Pittsburgh, Abby, Kylie, and Sophia of West Bloomfield, MI; dear brother-in-law of Cynthia and Dan Kavanaugh of Pittsburgh and Franklin and Catherine Quel of Ormond Beach, Fla. He was a devoted uncle to Daniel Kavanaugh, Tara Kavanaugh (Derrick Smith) and Bailey Kavanaugh, and great-niece, Lily Smith; special nephew of Audrey and Richard Nelson and Patricia (the late Joseph) Schramm. Don was also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Darcy and Blinn Tracey; six brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Dianne Myers, Dan and Paulie Myers, Daryl and Debbie Myers, Darius and Nancy Myers, Dennis and Nancy Myers, and Dorian and Suzanne Myers, numerous nieces and nephews and a multitude of relatives, cousins, friends and neighbors who will miss him greatly. He was preceded in death by a sister Dianna (Jeffrey) Pisani and his in-laws Esther and Franklin Quel.
Don’s greatest joy was spending time with his wife and family, especially his eight grandchildren. He also enjoyed baking, making dad jokes, pretending to like sports, and working on home improvement projects. He was always quick to lend a helping hand when needed, and enjoyed hosting summer barbecues and picnics. He always looked forward to traveling and sightseeing with his wife and family.
Don was a faithful member of North Zion Lutheran Church where he served on church council, property committee, and as general handyman.
Visitation will be 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, December 4, 2020 at the North Zion Lutheran Church, 5100 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. Everyone please meet at church.
