Don M. Hood's Obituary
Our dear dad, Don Hood, 92, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on March 23, 2026.
Don loved his hometown, nature, baseball, art and singing- but his greatest love was his wife of 69 years, Carol. He grew up in Pittsburgh's Hazelwood 'projects' with four brothers, attended Gladstone High and played baseball for the local Lutheran Church. His talent for drawing led him to study at Connelley Trade School. He spent his life as a commercial artist, but outside of work, he enjoyed playing in baseball leagues- and cheering on his favorite team, the Pirates- hunting deer with best friends and loving travel later in life.
Don had a lovely singing voice, and his favorite song was "My Way", famously sung by Frank Sinatra. That's the way he handled life- "My way!". He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Don is survived by his loving children, Debbie (Bill) Drescher, Dawn (Bill) Robertson and Scott (Lynn) Hood; his beloved grandchildren Melissa Drescher, Quinn Hood, Samantha Pritchard and Maura Robertson; and his cherished great-grandchild Kinley Pritchard.
All services are private and have been entrusted to Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home.
