Dolores A. Ober's Obituary
Dolores "Dee" Alexandra (Byra) Ober, age 90, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of family, on Sunday, November 2, 2025. She was born on July 13, 1935, the daughter of the late Frank and Bertha (Kulig) Byra.
Dolores was the beloved wife of 65 years to the late William Frank Ober. She is the cherished mother of William (Anne) Ober, Cynthia (Randy) Shope, Michelle (Mike) Knauff, and Melissa (Frank) Fera. Adored Mimi of Adam, Stephanie, Jared, William, Kristin, Brent, Kyle, Jacqueline, Steven, Matthew, and Jesse; and the Great Mimi of Norah, Elias, Desmond and Arthur. Dolores also leaves several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Dolores was preceded in death by her brother, Eugene Byra.
Dolores was born in Wallington, New Jersey where she spent her early years. Her family moved to DeFuniak Springs, Florida when she was in middle school. Soon after graduation from high school, she married her beloved husband, William, while he was stationed at the Eglin Air Force Base. For over six decades, she and William made an excellent team, creating a loving home where they raised their four children.
Dee was a very artistic person who added a touch of her creativity to any task at hand. She was an avid reader and enjoyed painting and sewing. She was witty and smart; her family fondly recalls her wonderful sense of humor.
Dee always had a wonderful time when spending time with her friends but above all else she cherished the time with her family. She was a devoted and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be deeply missed by all those who loved her.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A service in honor of Dee will be held at 12:00 pm in the chapel at the funeral home. Burial will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Dementia Society of America, 188 N Main St, Doylestown, PA 18901.
