Dolores M. Maffei's Obituary
Dolores Maffei, 88, of Bethel Park, PA, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025.
Born in Pittsburgh's Southside, Dolores later moved to Bethel Park, where she and her beloved husband of 55 years, Virgil, built a beautiful life together. They raised three wonderful sons, Dan, Kurt and Brad, and after becoming empty nesters, settled in Whitehall on Holiday Drive.
Dolores had a zest for life and a love for music. She could often be found dancing the Jitterbug or listening to cool jazz, always embracing the joy in every moment. She and Virgil shared a passion for travel, often setting off on adventures to Italy or Ireland with their dear friends from St. Canice Parish. Together, they were active in their church, enjoyed bowling, and never missed a home Pittsburgh Steeler game! But, above all, Dolores was devoted to her family, always present in the lives of her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons: Dan and his wife Deb (D'Agaro), Kurt and his wife Suzanne (Thomas), and Brad. She was a loving grandmother to Meghan (28), Jared (25) and Jonathan (20) and a proud step-grandmother to Kevin D'Agaro, Kelly (Darin) Reece, and Erin D'Agara. She also embraced her role as a great step-grandmother to Ayden, Mason and Lilly. She is also survived by her sister in law Barb Kramer, and her wonderful family, as well as her niece Christine and husband Donald Steggert, who took such loving care of her.
Dolores was preceded in death by her beloved husband Virgil, her brothers Walter and Edward, her step siblings Yush, Mary and Louise, as well as her parents Stella and Tut.
Her warmth, laughter and love of music and family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road Pittsburgh, PA on Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 3:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St. Germaine Church, 7003 Baptist Road, Bethel Park, PA on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 10:00 a.m.
