Dixie Wilson's Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dixie Carole Wilson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, who left this world peacefully with family by her side on December 27, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on April 16, 1943, in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, Dixie lived a life filled with kindness, laughter, and love for her family.
Dixie attended Homestead High School and later pursued her education at Robert Morris College, where she honed the skills that would shape her career. For over 25 years, she served as a devoted secretary at Clara Barton Elementary in the West Mifflin School District.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Dixie was an enthusiastic participant in many activities and crafts. Earlier in life she enjoyed activities such as bowling with friends, expressing her creativity through cross-stitch, ceramics, and sewing. She was active in selling Tupperware for years and created life-long friends as a result. She would rarely turn down an opportunity to play cards, and she loved spending time with her grand-dogs, Zoey and Moca.
Dixie was also a member of the American Legion Post 380 and looked forward to going there for her Wednesday night wings. She was always packed and ready for a weekend away to 'Camp Wilson' and opened her home to friends and family alike to enjoy a hot summer day poolside at 'Club Wilson'. The 4th of July will never be the same.
Dixie is survived by her loving husband, John Wilson; her son Brian (Nadine); her daughter, Janelle Byers; her grandson, Justin; her brother, David Spencer (Lorrie) and their children Emily, Amanda and Kyle. She was the beloved "Aunt Dixie" to many nieces and nephews and many others. All who knew her will carry a piece of her heart, and they will forever cherish the memories they created together.
Dixie was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Anna Margaret Spencer
