Diane June Patton's Obituary
Diane J. Patton, 70, a lifelong resident of Jefferson Hills, peacefully transcended this world on March 9 at home surrounded by the loving light of her family — husband Tedd (Arnold), daughter Andrea, and son Nick. Diane also is survived by her beloved sister Donna (Clay Keel) of Snellville, Ga. She was the daughter of the late June (Pierce) and John Patton.
Later this year, Diane would have marked 48 years with Duquesne University’s Division of University Advancement. She was known for her genuine love for the University, and the precision and commitment to excellence she brought to her work. Duquesne also was her alma mater, where she earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees in psychology.
Always curious about life, culture, and ideas, Diane was a voracious reader and spent many free hours at her local library. She was an accomplished gardener, budding photographer, and dedicated Tai Chi and yoga practitioner. She loved puzzles, mysteries, and all things British — from the latest authors to the newest series on BritBox — with the family’s beloved cat, Fuji, usually at her side.
Diane will be deeply missed by her immediate and extended family, as well as the legions of friends and colleagues whose lives she enriched with her wry wit, signature style and elegance, and enduring love.
There will be no viewing, as requested by Diane. In lieu of flowers, donations in Diane's honor may be made to the American Cancer Society (https://www.cancer.org/).
