Diane Mrozowski's Obituary
With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Diane Mrozowski (formerly Diane Skreppen) who passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025 after a fierce battle with metastatic breast cancer. She was 68 years old and a cherished wife, mother, sister, aunt, great-aunt, teacher, co-worker, and friend.
Born on February 21, 1957, Diane's journey through life was one of curiosity, resilience, and boundless love. Throughout her years, she traveled, lived in various states, and embraced every new experience with open arms and an eager spirit.
Diane's legacy is built on the fierce love she shared with those around her. She was the beloved wife of Jack Mrozowski, her soulmate and partner for over a decade. They shared a love that was defined by unwavering commitment, humor, and strength. Diane's joy was undeniable after meeting Jack in 2013, and together they created a beautiful blended family with their three children, Emma, Connor & Layla.
A dedicated mother to her daughter, Emma Skreppen, Diane's love for her family knew no bounds. As a single mother, Diane created a home filled with warmth, love, and safety. She was fiercely protective, endlessly patient, and always ready to listen with an open heart. Emma was her pride and joy, and they shared an unwavering bond.
She is predeceased by her parents, William & Queen Purcell, and brother, William Purcell Jr.
Diane is survived by her husband, Jack Mrozowski, daughter, Emma Skreppen (Charles), and sisters Nadine Barchfeld (Charlie), Dorcas Baumgart (Dan), and Tomi Simon (Larry); as well as numerous nieces and nephews (to whom she was known as Aunt Ducca).
Throughout her life, Diane embraced many roles, constantly seeking new ways to grow and learn. She was a devoted teacher for over a decade, making her mark on the students whose lives she touched. Her wit, humor, and kindness left lasting impressions, and she was beloved by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Diane was known for her strength - a strength that carried her through every challenge life presented.
Till the very end, Diane defied expectations - living far beyond the prognosis set by her doctors. She fought with unyielding determination and courage, proving time and again that her spirit was unbreakable.
Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her - a reminder of the power of love, the importance of family, and the strength of the human spirit. As Diane would want you to remember- "Life is Good", always.
Friends and family will be received from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Thursday, May 8, 2025 and from 12-2pm on Friday, May 9, 2025 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills, PA, 15236.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2pm on Friday following visitation in the Funeral Home Chapel.
Be advised, there is construction happening on both sides of Curry Hollow Road. Please allow for extra travel time.
