Diane Ruth Hughes' Obituary
Diane Ruth (Weber) Hughes, 75, of Jefferson Hills, passed away unexpectedly on June 3, 2020. Diane was the devoted wife of the late Ronald J. Hughes, loving mother of Krista (Hughes) Ramsey of Jefferson Hills and Bret Hughes of Pompano Beach, FL; mother-in-law to Homer Ramsey; and beloved grandmother to Cole and Paige Ramsey, who will miss her from the depths of their hearts. She is survived by two brothers, George (Rose) and Gary (Sandy) Weber. Diane had many dear friends, who were considered family.
She taught English at Carrick High School for 30 years and ended her career as a district curriculum supervisor. There, her colleagues became her lifelong and dearest friends, along with “The Bad Girlz” of Pleasant Hills and members of her Bingo Club. During her retirement years, Diane led the Peppy Steppers line dancing group at Pleasant Hills Borough Building and enjoyed attending book club and other social events with her many neighbors of Jefferson Estates. She played Bunco and Mahjong and volunteered at Jefferson Hills Library. She was a member of Peters Creek Baptist Church, and her favorite places on Earth were the beaches of Florida and North Carolina.
Regretfully, both visitation and services will be private and by invitation only due to COVID-19 restrictions. Donations may be made to Reading Is Fundamental (rif.org).
