Diane Kay Barnhart's Obituary
Diane Kay Barnhart, age 88, of Finleyville, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Friday, July 10, 2026, while surrounded by the love of family. Born on August 29, 1937, in Detroit, MI, she was the daughter of the late John and Dorothy Bodenhemier.
Diane was the beloved mother of Diana (Al) Kozel and Jodi (Jack) Alston; the loving grandmother of Jenna (Ryan) Alston-Duncan and Lexie Kozel; and the great grandmother of Greyson and Scarlett Duncan, whom she adored. Diane also leaves many dear friends who became family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, James L. Barnhart; her brothers, John and Duane Bodenhemier, twin brother, Dean Weiss and her sister, Yvonne Cannon.
A devoted servant of her faith, Diane loved her church, her pastors, and most importantly, Jesus. She was a cherished member of over 10 years at South Hills Community of Christ where she made many meaningful friendships and found community.
Diane was a dedicated and loving mother, and she found immense joy in her role as a Meems to her granddaughters. Her love only flourished with the addition of her great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A service in honor of Diane will be held in the chapel at the funeral home on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 10:00 am. Burial will be held privately.
