Diana Filyo von Hofen's Obituary
Diana Filyo von Hofen went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the young age of 68. She was born January 26, 1953 to Michael Joseph Filyo, USN, and Nancy Winchester Ridout in Maryland where her father was stationed. She is survived by her loving husband, Steven von Hofen, whom she has shared her life together with since March 17, 1984. Together they built a family that was devoted to the Lord and raised two sons whom she adored; David Earl (Kristin) and Kevin Robert (Sarah); and a 3rd beloved "adoptive" son, Jeffery. She was a devoted grandmother, affectionately known as “Na”, to Dawson, Wesson, and Viviana, whom she spent countless hours sharing stories, playing together, and having fun riding her John Deere, "Bossy". She was beloved sister to Theresa (Bob), Marsha (Thomas), and Stephen (Cynthia) and affectionately known as Aunt Dee Dee by her 6 adored nieces and nephews. Diana was a cherished friend to many; keeping her treasured friend of 40+ years, Marjorie, and her cherished colleagues from her 20 years at Cracker Barrel close to her heart.
To know Diana was to know an Angel. Diana loved by being present to all and sharing her servant heart. She was a bright light on this earth, ever loving, always kind and giving, and now she is at rest sharing paradise after a life as a faithful servant.
She was preceded in death by her parents and will be laid to rest next to them on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery, Pittsburgh, PA. The family will be receiving friends and family from Noon until 2:00 pm with a memorial service immediately following in the Chapel located at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Rd. Pittsburgh, PA 15236.
