Dennis W. Meyer's Obituary
Dennis W. Meyer, 78, passed away surrounded by his loving family on September 10, 2024, in his hometown of Pittsburgh, PA. Born on May 18, 1946, to the late George and Elsie Meyer, Dennis was a lifelong resident of Pittsburgh and a cherished member of the community.
Dennis is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Susan E. Meyer, his loving children Dennis J. Meyer (Kathy) and Dawn (Meyer) Schmitt, and his adored grandchildren Samantha and Justin "Bubba." He was predeceased by his parents and his brother George Meyer.
After graduating from high school, Dennis embarked on a long and dedicated career as a driver and mover for Werner-Donaldson Allied Van Lines. His commitment to his work was unwavering until his well-deserved retirement.
A passionate NASCAR enthusiast and a collector of classic model cars, Dennis found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He greatly enjoyed his monthly gettogether lunch on Wednesdays with his childhood friends; where they shared good times and memories together. Above all, he was a family man at heart, whose greatest pride and joy were his grandchildren. Dennis's warm spirit and generous nature will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His memory will forever be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of his loved ones.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, September 13th, 2024 from 6-8pm and on Saturday, September 14th from 2-4pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills, PA, 15236.
A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel at 4pm on Saturday.
Burial will be handled by Jefferson Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
