Dennis J. Cagney's Obituary
Dennis J. Cagney, age 79, of Baldwin, passed away surrounded by the love of his family on Friday, September 12, 2025. Dennis was born on February 3, 1946, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late William and Annabelle (Crowley) Cagney.
Dennis is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Denise (Radziukinas) Cagney, his loving daughter Christina (Steven) Carpenter; and two granddaughters, whom he adored, Annabelle and Autumn Carpenter. Dennis also leaves his siblings Eileen (Donald) Vernon, Cathy (Robert) Randall, Thomas (Peggy) Cagney, sister-in-law Joan Cagney and many nieces and nephews.
Dennis was preceded in death by his daughter, Deanna Cagney; and siblings Pat (the late Paul) Schmidt, William (the late Dorothy) Cagney, Bernice (the late Tony) Cagney, Alice (the late Timothy) Callahan and John Cagney.
Dennis dedicated 35 years of his life to the steel industry as a topside foreman for LTV Steel, exemplifying hard work and dedication. After retiring, he found a new passion as a school bus driver for the Baldwin-Whitehall School District, a role he cherished for nearly 15 years.
Dennis was known for his vibrant personality and love for music. Affectionately nicknamed "Beetle" by his friends, he was a karaoke enthusiast who shared his love of singing across various genres. He proudly founded the Karaoke Lounge Facebook page and cherished the moments he spent on stage, especially the unforgettable day he sang at his daughter's wedding.
Dennis found immense joy in being a grandfather to his two precious granddaughters, Annabelle and Autumn. He delighted in their company and playfully reminded them that every day was his birthday, creating cherished memories that will forever warm their hearts. Dennis will be deeply missed by his family and all those who had the honor of knowing him.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Holy Angels Church, 408 Baldwin Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15207. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Park.
