Dennis Bekavac's Obituary
Dennis "Deach" Bekavac, 62, of Pittsburgh, passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 21, 2023.
Dennis is survived by his Theresa "Tracy" Bekavac (Gentille); Children Anna Bekavac, Mary Bekavac and her fiancé, Jeremy Haeck; brothers Jeffrey Bekavac, Emil Bekavac, Francis (Angela) Bekavac; In-laws Michael Gentille, Aggie (Joe) Greer; Robert Gentille , Stephen (Kelly) Gentille, Billy (Layna) Gentille, Susie (Michael) Gazzo. Nieces and Nephews; Joe Jr. (Kate), Brittany (Michael), Jordan, Mysty (Talisha), Charity, Lauren, Simon, Sean, Kayleigh, Madison, Frankie, Spencer, and Santino. Dennis is also survived by Nana and Richie, along with great nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anne and Emil Bekavac and father in-law, Robert Gentille Sr.
Dennis grew up in Clairton, PA and graduated from St. Elizabeth High School in '79, where he met his high school sweetheart, Tray, 46 years ago. They were married in '87 at St. Elizabeth's and would have celebrated their 36th anniversary this November. They welcomed 2 beautiful girls, Anna and Mary, who he was incredibly proud of and loved very much.
He worked 33 years at the PA Turnpike Commission alongside coworkers turned lifelong friends.
Dennis loved spending time with family, cooking, watching and attending family sporting events, especially Pittsburgh teams and his UNC Tarheels! He was a DJ who loved all kinds of music, attending concerts, and tearing up the dance floor. He took pride in his yard, swimming pool, and the Bekavac Pavilion, where parties will never be the same. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends are welcome on Sunday, September 24, 2023 from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road Pittsburgh, PA 15236.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023 at 10 am at Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, 1 Grove Place, Pittsburgh PA.
Interment to follow at Jefferson Memorial Park.
