David Norman Spaw, Sr.'s Obituary
David Norman Spaw, Sr. of Pittsburgh went to his eternal rest on December 7th, 2021. He was 72 years old. Born on August 10th, 1949 in Harden Hollow, Smithfield PA. He was the son of Norman and Minnie (Kelly) Spaw, Smithfield.
Dave served his country in the US Army, as a Military Policeman, and was a Vietnam Veteran. He worked at U.S. Steel, Homestead for 17 years. He retired from SCI Forest as a Corrections Officer. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Dave loved animals and was a dedicated bird watcher. Feeding the birds and wild life at his country house in Cook Forest gave him great joy. He also loved all things mechanical/automotive and worked many hours restoring his Classic Ford 8N antique tractor.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jeffrey Spaw.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years Cathy (Wingrove), Pittsburgh, daughter Traci (Chip) Fenner, Uniontown, Kellie (Richard) Skweres, Pittsburgh and son David (Deanna) Spaw, Pittsburgh, 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
According to Dave's wishes there will be no viewing. A private, family memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Dave's name may be given to a local animal shelter.
