David "Dave" Bernard Mezinze age 63, of Mt. Lebanon, passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 14, 2023. Dave is survived by his beloved wife of 17 years, Colleen Amos-Mezinze. Loving step-daughter, Claire Dorman. Brother, Matthe Read Obituary
From the second my dog spotted Dave's blue Sasquatch Research sweatshirt on our morning walk near Howe School in Mt. Lebanon we started running towards him in hopes of getting a delicious duck jerky treat! My dog quickly learned after our first meeting with Dave that he was an animal lover who always had something delicious in the kangaroo pocket, and I learned that Dave was an interesting, level-headed but opinionated (and I mean that as a highest compliment), really good guy. I had no idea that when Dave said to me \"Later, dude\" the morning of October 13th that it would be the last of our meetings, and my dog still looks for him every morning, quickly checking everyone we encounter to see if that person is her buddy with the snacks, always disappointed to find that it's not Dave. Dave was a brief but fun start to our mornings and we will both miss him. We are very sorry for your loss, but I hope you can take some comfort in the fact that Dave has undoubtably been reunited with Chole of whom he often spoke (and with whom we used to see him walking all the time!).

Please accept are deepest condolences. We were deeply saddened to hear about Dave’s passing. Dave will truly be missed in our neighborhood.
Dave referred to his stonework as his “children” and we were fortunate he left one of them with us. We love the work he did on our house and he spent a lot of time with us for a while between 2018-2020 as seen in a few photos. He worked shirtless most of the time when the weather permitted it and could be heard crooning to his music. He was larger than life. We will miss our friend.
We hope you find comfort in good memories of him.

Dave and Chloe were good friends for many years as they took their daily walks down my street into the woods. Through the years Dave helped me with numerous projects around my house putting me in touch with just the right people to do the jobs or doing the job himself. His friendship was very special.
