David Alan Critchfield's Obituary
David Alan Critchfield, age 60, passed away on October 1st 2022.
He was born at Passavant hospital in Pittsburgh on August 18th 1962. He was the second son of James and Mary Jean Critchfield of Carrick in Pittsburgh PA.
He lived a short time in Florida and in Houston PA, then his family returned to Carrick, where he spent the rest of his childhood.
He attended Concord Elementary School on Brownsville Road in Carrick and later Carrick High School, where he graduated in 1980.
He attended Mt Washington Baptist Church later he helped to start Bible Baptist Church, now in Heidelberg PA, where he and his wife and three children attended for 22 years.
He and his family became members of South Hills Bible Chapel on Route 19 in McMurray, PA. David served the Lord there from 2005, to the present, 17 years.
David met and married Judith Ann Iams by 1982. Together they have raised 3 children who survive and 6 Grandchildren who live in Allegheny and Washington PA. David is also survived by his Father James, 84 and older brother James, who still live in Carrick.
David was Born Again in Christ in 1967. He has served in 3 churches in his lifetime in many ministries.
He has volunteered as an usher, security services, Awana (children's program), and softball and baseball leagues. He also served as Judge of Elections in Monongahela PA from 2014-2018.
He was a devout family man and worked as an Armored Car driver for Landmark and Guarda Security for 16 years and as a Bus Driver for Matthews Bus Company for 14 years.
David was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and was proud to be born on the same day as Roberto Clemente, and that he lived to see the 50th anniversary of Clemente's 3000th hit.
Family and friends will be welcomed on Thursday, October 6, 2022 from 10:00AM-12:00PM and 4:00PM-6:00PM at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills, PA 15236. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel following final visitation at 6:00PM.
