Pamela Bates
My fondest memory of Darlene is when we both worked at Federated Investors, and she would often accompany me to the church to pray during lunchtime. We kept in touch when our career paths took us to different departments. When she gave me word of her promotion, I wrote the following acrostic poem for Darlene:
During your severest trial, you felt abandoned when
All along the Lord was with you and proved once again
Romans 8 verse 18 and verse 28 hold true.
Little did you know how much that they applied to you.
Everything that happened went according to God's will.
No weapon formed against you worked, and what was meant for ill
Elevated you to blessings that you would have missed.
Congrats on your promotion to a Systems Analyst!
Even though we didn’t keep in touch as frequently, Darlene would come to my mind from time to time. Imagine my surprise to reach out for her only to find that Darlene had left this world behind for a much better life, eternal in the heavens. I knew her to love the Lord and I can only imagine Him speaking to her, “Come Away, My beloved!” that day August 16, 2022.
