Daniel Irvin Bayless, Jr.'s Obituary
Daniel (Danno, Danny, Dan) Irvin Bayless Jr., 53, passed away on July 10th, 2026 surrounded by his dearest friends and family in the comfort of his home. He was born on September 17th, 1972 in Pittsburgh, Pa to Patricia (Patty) Bertram and Daniel Bayless, Sr. He attended school in Baldwin, Pa. Dan was married for 25 years to his wife Erin Bayless (Apitsch). He practiced carpentry for a over two decades of his life and ended his career at Kingswood Designs as a Finish Carpenter.
Dan enjoyed spending time golfing and watching sports with his boys. He loved music and spent many weekday evenings watching live music on the couch in his white t-shirt and camo shorts. He dedicated many years of his life to the youth in his community, and is known to many as "Coach Dan." He loved weekend trips to camp, a cold Blue Moon with an orange slice, and more than anything he loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Dan is survived by his devoted wife Erin Bayless (Apitsch), three children Morgan Bayless (Jon Reibel), Ethan Bayless (Samantha Linko), and Mason Bayless; three grand-children Matthew, Lilian, and Lukas; a sister Cristina (Crissy) Bayless, and her three children, Jordan Bayless (Sam), Dominic Bianchi (Caitlin), and Cody Rump, as well as a great-niece Sophia; a mother-in-law Evelyn Scott, and father-in-law John Apitsch; sister-in-law Jessica VanKooten (Scott), and a nephew Henry; brother-in-law Ian Apitsch (Dana), and two nieces Cambria and Cozma; a sister-in-law Brooke Scott; two dogs (Nya and Loca); and an abundance of cousins and friends.
Of note, he was preceded in death by his loving mother Patty, his grandparents Anthony and Mary Delevin, and his beloved dog AnnaMolly.
Dan will be especially remembered for the impact he made, his endless kindness, and his drive to never quit. To know Dan was to know love; and what a privilege that was.
Visitation will be held on Saturday July 18th, between 12-4 pm, memorial service will begin at 4 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home (301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, Pa 15236).
