Christy Hazaga's Obituary
Christy Hazaga, age 48, of Pleasant Hills, passed away after a courageous 20-year battle with cancer on Saturday, May 23, 2026, while surrounded by the deep love of her family. Born on March 31, 1978, in McKeesport, she was the beloved daughter of Debra (Leonard) Mayotte and the late Charles "Chuck" Hazaga.
Christy dedicated her life to her greatest joy-her son, Parker. She embodied the spirit of generosity and compassion, devoting countless hours to volunteering with Meals on Wheels and the Duquesne Food Bank alongside her son. Christy was always seeking ways to give back to her community. Her commitment extended beyond these organizations, as she made it a priority to bring meals to women's shelters and serve turkey dinners on Thanksgiving.
Christy was a wonderful mother and aunt. She was a pillar of support for her nephews during challenging times. Despite facing a relentless battle with cancer for twenty years, Christy remained a beacon of strength and resilience. Her spirit and determination will forever inspire those who knew her.
Christy is survived by her mother and stepfather, Debra and Leonard Mayotte; her cherished son, Parker; her brothers, Anthony (Karahh) and Kristofer (Juli) Mayotte; and her niece and nephews, Millyanna, Markus, Kenny, Locke and Madden, whom she adored. Christy also leaves many loving aunts and uncles, extended family members, and a large circle of dear friends who will forever remember her warmth and kindness.
In addition to her father, Charles "Chuck" Hazaga, Christy was preceded in death by her sister, Veronica Matson.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A service in honor of Christy will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 28, 2026, in the chapel at Round Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth, PA.
