Charles T. "Chick" Dyer Jr.'s Obituary
Charles T. "Chick" Dyer Jr. Chick, age 91 born February 26, 1927, of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully at home on February 13, 2019. Chick served his country with distinction in Italy during WWII. Chick retired in 1987 after a long career as an engineer on his beloved Monongahela-Connecting (Mon-Con) Railroad. Chick was an avid bowler, singer and guitar player, card player and follower of the Pirates. His good humor, quick wit and legendary story telling will be sorely missed by his family and friends. Chick is survived by his loving children, James Dyer (Debbie), Charles Dyer (Donna), and Kathleen Fechter (Billie); grandchildren, Shannon Silcott, Tom Dyer, James Dyer, Colleen Dyer, Amanda Jordan; 15 great-grandchildren, he was also survived by his long time loving companion Judy Dyer, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Dyer, parents, Charles T. Dyer Sr. and Rose Margaret (Voelker) Dyer, sisters, Renilda, Annabelle, Hazel, and Gertrude.Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Sunday, February 17, 2019, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pleasant Hills, 15236. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday February 18, 2019 at St. Agnes Catholic Church at 10 am. Condolences may be left at www.jeffersonmemorial.biz.
