Charles J. Robis' Obituary
Charles Robis, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.
A proud veteran, Charles served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960, exemplifying devotion to his country. He was also an active member of St. John Mark Lutheran Church, where his faith guided him. He was also a member of the Freemasons, embodying principles of integrity and fellowship.
Known for his passion for woodworking, Charles took great satisfaction in creating beautiful pieces, and his love for golf brought him joy on many sunny afternoons. A loyal Pittsburgh Steelers fan, he could always be found cheering for his team with enthusiasm. Above all, Charles was a loving and devoted grandfather. He always found the time to spend with family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Charles is survived by his wife Donna Robis; children Melanie (Randy) Durrence and Jeff (Maura) Robis; grandchildren Brandon (Jasmine) Durrence, Shane (Haley) Durrence, Caylie (Jimmy) Desmarteau, and Dylan Robis; great-grandchildren Aurora, Landon, Lucas, and Aries; also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Anna Robis and his sister Janice Walker.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, 15236. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 17 at 10:00 am in the funeral home's chapel.
