Charles Phillip Lazzara, age 78, of Pleasant Hills, PA, formerly of Chicago, passed away peacefully at home on January 10, 2021. Charles is survived by his beloved children; Deborah (Mark) Field, Noxen, PA and David (Tina) Lazzara Read Obituary
\"Chuck\" was my boss and a good friend! He wrote our Bureau of Mines report on conveyer belt fires that became the Bureau's \"Tech. Publication for1989\". These studies enabled us to develop a \"meaningful\" small scale belt fire test! His attention for our safety during these hazardous studies was appreciated by us all!

I will always be grateful to my oldest cousin, Chuck, for allowing me to fulfill my dream to be Robin Hood as portrayed in the movies by Errol Flynn. When I was in 8th grade or so, Chuck started an archery club. He, I, and several others shot our bows in a nearby field. This went on for several months as we had weekly meetings in the basement of his Newcastle house. Unfortunately, after several months, I shot by bow in a field near my local church. The pastor came out and took my bow as a danger to the community. When I shared with Chuck what had happened, he consoled me and explained that this would never had happened to Robin Hood. Chuck was such a great cousin. He filled our childhoods with laughter and wonderful memories. He will be missed.
