Charles J. Koenig's Obituary
Charles J. Koenig, 79, passed away on March 28, 2025, in Pittsburgh, PA.
Charles worked as a vehicle operator for the Port Authority, where he worked diligently for 29 years. He was also passionate about many things in life. He enjoyed bowling and golfing, spending time with friends and family on the green or at the lanes. An avid "bird nerd", he often found joy in observing and learning about birds. Charles was also known for his love of coffee and his talent for baking, where he would often share his creations with loved ones.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Charlotte Koenig, and their children: Amy, Christopher (Bee), Jamie, and Kelly (Damien) Rotondo. Charles cherished his role as a grandfather to Cara (Cameron), Dominic, Mason, Maria, Logan, Christopher, and Cole, as well as a great-grandfather to Charlie and Cooper. He is also survived by his brother, John Koenig, and his fur baby Sophie.
He is preceded in death by his parents George and Dolores, brothers George and Paul, his step-son Dean Schreiner.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A Blessing Service will follow visitation at 6:00 pm in the funeral home's chapel.
