Charles H. Braun's Obituary
Charles (Chuck) Braun of Pleasant Hills, 73, died peacefully beside his beautiful bride of 51 years, Peggy on Friday, August 13, 2021. He loved and lived hard, fighting in Vietnam as a Marine at the tender age of 19 and returning home to marry the love of his life and grow a family and a successful business at the same time. Although his professional accomplishments are many, he remained always humble, often telling people he was an electrician instead of an owner of a thriving protective services business. Forever the short-tempered German, his golfing buddies are sure to tell tales of a golf club soaring across a fairway when he didn’t make a shot.
If you knew Chuck, you knew he was hardheaded, stubborn, witty, intelligent, and funny. And you undoubtedly have a good story or two to share. He had a strong personality, a strong opinion, and a kind heart. He was always a gentleman and never wavered from clearly defined morals and convictions that made him an outstanding businessman and a devoted and fiercely protective husband, father, and grandfather. The family asks that you always remember him with smiles.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Beverly, and his grandson, Sloan Douglas. He is survived by his wife, Margaret (McGinnis), his three children, Laurie (Jon), Rebecca (Rob), and Doug (Alaina), and his grandchildren Adam, Cheyanne, Alex, Nathan, Justin, Ava, Jacob, and Anna. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America: https://vva.org/donate/.
