Cecilia Barry's Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Cecilia Barry announced her passing on May 23, 2023 surrounded by family. Cyl was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a dedicated nurse for over 50 years, retiring from Mercy Hospital in 2014.
Cecilia is survived by her children David (Grace) Barry, and Cecilia (Brian) McLay. She was a loving grandmother to Kaitlyn (Scott) Poploski, Carolyn (Justin) Morgan, Jennifer Swanson, Kimberly (Brian Herb) McLay, Elise (Kyle Petak) Wilson, Emma (Jacob) Wiersch, and Melissa (Sean) Denti. She was a great-grandmother to Scott, Julie, Jake, Lillian, Rosalyn and Chloe. Cyl was a godmother and aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Cyl was a long-time resident of Pleasant Hills, recently residing in Elizabeth Township. She was an active member of St. Thomas A’ Becket Church and a past member of the Pleasant Hills Ladies Auxiliary.
She is preceded into heaven following her husband, Charles F. Barry Jr., her parents Henry and Cecilia Hofbauer, her brother Henry Hofbauer, as well as many more family and friends.
Family and friends will be welcomed for visitation on Friday, May 26, 2023 from 2:00pm-8:00pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills PA 15236. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023 from 12:00pm-1:00pm at Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish- St. Thomas A' Becket Church, 139 Gill Hall Rd, Clairton, PA 15025. Burial to take place at Jefferson Memorial Park.
