Catherine M. "Kitty" Marcheleta's Obituary
Catherine M. "Kitty" Marcheleta, beloved matriarch and cherished community member, peacefully passed away on December 9, 2025, at the age of 96. Born on December 16, 1928, in Montgomery, Alabama, the daughter of the late Michael and Ada Nath. Kitty made her home in Jefferson Hills, PA, where she lived alongside her devoted husband of 70 years, the late Ralph Marcheleta.
A strong and vibrant presence in her community, Kitty's spirit was woven into the fabric of Jefferson Hills, as an up-and-coming neighborhood she actively participated in various community initiatives. Her passion for fashion sparked the creation of a Children's Fashion Show, while her love for games led her to establish community card clubs that brought neighbors together. Kitty's tireless commitment to service benefited various organizations, including the Women's Auxiliary, the PTA, and her church, embodying the spirit of compassion and support.
Kitty was a fiercely competitive individual who found immense joy in games, bowling, and puzzles. She believed that victory was earned and best savored when achieved after hard-fought competition. Her grandchildren often learned this lesson firsthand, as she never allowed them an easy win-each triumph they experienced became a point of immense pride.
Kitty was not only a dedicated wife and mother but also a loving grandmother and great grandmother who cherished the moments spent with her family. She delighted in hosting gatherings that brought both sides of her family together, fostering a close-knit bond amongst her loved ones. She and Ralph embraced the joy of travel, embarking on adventures across the United States and creating unforgettable memories in new places each year.
Kitty was the beloved mother to the late Deborah Marcheleta, Dianne (John) Archer, Linda Marcheleta, Joseph (Lisa) Marcheleta; and adoring grandmother to Jason Archer, Daniel (Amanda) Archer, Alan (Sara) Archer, Kate Nightman, Rocky (Jessica) Marcheleta, and Nicco (Maria) Marcheleta. She was also the cherished great-grandmother to Josiah, Broc, Ava, Mila, Coralie, Cooper, Reese, Nora and Roman.
In addition to her husband and daughter, Kitty was preceded in death by her brothers, James and Raymond Nath.
Kitty's kindness, warmth, and spirit will be deeply missed but forever cherished by all who knew her.
