Carolyn W. Fausnaught's Obituary
Carolyn Fausnaught, 81, of Finleyville, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2023 at McMurray Hills Manor surrounded by her family. Born on June 18, 1942, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Dorothy Stansberry Woody.
She was a 1960 graduate of Dormont High School and continued on to graduate with honors from Robert Morris. She worked as Administrative Assistant to the Vice-President of the Trust Department at Mellon Bank until she decided to be a homemaker after the birth of her second child. She enjoyed art and drawing, playing the piano, sewing, embroidery, and baking, as well as always supporting her children in the band and being a Modernette Mom. Later in life she loved to listen and watch the Irish singing group Celtic Thunder.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Dwight (Olive) Woody and her sister, Patricia (Duane) Carpenter and sister-in-law, Mary Baits.
Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband of 56 years, Bob Fausnaught. She is also survived by her children, Christy (Michael) Lutz and Rob (Jenn) Fausnaught and her grandchildren, Carly Lutz, Travis Lutz, Aidan Fausnaught, and Connor Fausnaught, all of Finleyville. In addition, she is survived by brothers-in-law, Jim Fausnaught and Kenneth Baits, Sr. as well as 7 nieces and nephews, 7 great-nieces and nephews, and 5 great-great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at McMurray Hills Manor for the care and compassion shown to the entire family.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. Funeral services will take place at 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 with Reverend Deborah Smith officiating in the funeral home's chapel. Burial will be held privately.
