Carole L. Cleary, a loving, friendly, and thoughtful woman, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 29, 2023. She was a shining light to those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Carole was the epitome of grace and style, embodying the spirit of a true fashionista.
Carole's life revoled around her husband of 65 years, James W. Cleary and her children, Karen Murphy and the late James P. Cleary.
Carole was the beloved daughter of the late Clara and Ben Steigerwald and the cherished sister of the late Mary Malloy, Grace Bogush, the late Jean Englert, and Robert Steigerwald. Her expansive family also included many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends, all of whom she held close to her heart.
In her professional life, Carole found joy in her work at the South Park Inn and Brookline Savings. Her friendly personality enhanced the atmosphere of the establishment. She was a true people person, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a kind word. Her dedication to her work and her genuine care for others will forever be remembered by her former colleagues and customers.
Carole had a deep love for fashion, always dressed to impress with a keen eye for clothes and jewelry. Her vibrant style was a reflection of her spirit, and she brought a bit of sparkle wherever she went. In addition to her passion for fashion, Carole loved traveling alongside her husband and friends, embarking on adventures to Wildwood, Florida, and Hawaii. These trips were more than just vacations for Carole. They were opportunities to create lasting memories and share in the joy of discovery with her loved ones.
As an avid lover of life's beauty, Carole had a special fondness for flowers. Their delicate blossoms and vibrant colors brought her immense joy, and she often found solace in their presence.
Carole's life was a living example of the famous quote by Maya Angelou, "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Her loving, friendly, and thoughtful nature left an indelible mark on everyone she met.

Family and friends are welcome on Friday, July 7, 2023 from 3:30 to 6:30 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh.
A Blessing Service will follow at 6:30 pm in the Funeral Home's Chapel.
