Carol L. Mackowiak's Obituary
Carol Mackowiak, 72, of South Park, passed away unexpectedly on April 14, 2026.
Born on November 23, 1953, in Johnstown, PA and raised in West Mifflin, PA, Carol was the daughter of the late Art and Pauline (Polly) Heiple. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Jean A. Simmers.
Carol was the devoted wife of Harry Mackowiak Jr. and loving mother to Harry A. (Susan) Mackowiak and Dana L. (Steven Clark) Mackowiak. Her greatest joy in life was being a grandmother to Madelyn and Cameron Mackowiak and her granddogs, Stella, Sally, and Opie.
Carol will be remembered as a strong and spirited woman who spoke her mind and lived life on her own terms. She was both loving and opinionated, and those who knew her understood that her care often showed itself in her own unique ways.
What remained constant was her deep love for her family. She especially cherished time with her grandchildren and found joy in cooking for those she loved, making sure her family was always cared for in the ways she knew best.
In addition to her immediate family, Carol is survived by many cousins and dear friends who will cherish her memory.
Family and friends will be received from 5-8pm on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills, PA, 15236.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice, in Carol's name.
