Carol Ann Lopretto's Obituary
Carol Ann Lopretto, age 76, passed away peacefully due to COVID-19, on August 17th, 2020. She was born January 26th, 1944 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. Carol is the daughter of the late David and Stella (Giganti) Lopretto.
Carol was a retired retail manager for Burlington Coat Factory.
She is survived by her children whom she referred to as her angels; Frank (Kim) Gunning of Stafford, Virginia, Teresa (John) Sullivan of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, and Scott (Adrianne) Gunning of Carnegie, Pennsylvania. She was a very proud Nana of Ashley and Christina Sullivan, Scott Gunning Jr., and Matthew Ian Gunning. She was the oldest of eight children, Diane Nestor of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, whom she shared a very special bond, the late David Lopretto, Donald Lopretto, Darla Sarber, Leo Lopretto, Joseph Lopretto and Denise Whitney. Carol Ann is also survived by her friend since childhood, Kathleen (Ron) Crookham of Carlisle, Pennsylvania and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Carol was preceded in death by her brother in law, Monzell Nestor.
Carol loved to spend time with people. She enjoyed when people would come over to see her and just spend time talking over coffee. The last year of her life she was in a nursing home and was so appreciative when people would visit and bring her goodies. In the last 6 months she was unfortunately not able to receive visitors and she was very lonely, but the daily calls from her children, her sister and her friends brought her great joy.
People who knew her were aware that Elvis Presley was her favorite singer of all time and she loved collecting angels, baking, and collecting anything with Daffy Duck and Donald Duck.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 24th, 2020 from 12 PM to 4 PM at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pleasant Hills, 15236.
