Carol Reed Fierst's Obituary
Carol Reed Fierst, 76, of Venetia (formerly of Greentree), died on August 20, 2021, surrounded by her family, listening to worship music as her granddaughter Mary sang softly to her.
Motivated in every aspect of her life by her love for Jesus and her love for others, Carol worked as the Director of Independent Living at Baptist Manor for over 20 years, treating each resident as though they were her own family member. Always generous, Carol went the extra mile to ensure those around her were cared for. She could be found reading two or three books at once and became an avid soccer fan, supporting her grandson Shane during his soccer career. Carol served on the Worship Committee at Peters Creek Baptist Church. She was selfless and young-at-heart with a love of adventure.
Carol was the daughter of the late Greentree Police Chief William J. Reed and Edna Reed. She was the most amazing mother of Michele (Matt) Pruitt and Beth Ann (deceased). She was affectionately known as “Nan,” “Nana,” and “C-Dogg” to grandchildren Shane (Kylie) Pruitt, Mary Pruitt, Taylor, Josh, and Sam Vester. Her greatest joy was being Nana to her great-grandchildren Bennett and Hazel Jones and Blake Pruitt.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 26th from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home at 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pittsburgh 15236.
A memorial service will be held the following day in the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 10 A.M.
