Carol E. Connell of Pittsburgh, PA, formerly of Indiana, PA, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024. Carol was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elsa Connell. She is survived by her brother, Richard (Joan); nephews, Jeffrey and D Read Obituary
So sorry to read that Carol’s life ended. She would come for appointments and always minimize her troubles and have solutions she hoped would work, was always thankful for care, any good news. She valued independence and modeled self-reliance. I’ll always admire and remember that about her.

I first met Carol when I was a doctoral student at IUP. She was whip smart and a wonderful resource as a professional. I was lucky to become her neighbor years later. She was always appreciative of Peonies that we cut for her in spring and we enjoyed many sidewalk chats. In the autumn, she was a steadfast supporter, no matter the weather, of the IUP Marching Band's warmup outside Cogswell on game days. Carol was kind, insightful, and independent --- a woman I respected a great deal. David and I send our sincere condolences to her family.

Death and grief are so hard especially the first year but our Great God of comfort (2Cor 1:3) has sent his son to show us He will remember our loved ones, just like when Christ remembered Lazarus and resurrected him back to life on earth.
