Betty Ann Johnson's Obituary
Betty Ann Johnson (Johnston), 93, Bethel Park, PA; born September 24, 1932, transitioned to heaven on February 14, 2026. She is reunited with the Lord and her beloved parents Paul E. and Margaret (Betty) Johnston and husband Victor R. Johnson.
Betty is survived by her son Mark R. Johnson and daughter-in-law Sharon Johnson of Upper St. Clair, daughter Paula S. Johnson-Muic and son-in-law Howard Muic of Allen, TX, and grandchildren Mitchell P. Muic (Brooke), Mariah A. Muic and Meghan L. Johnson.
Betty was a graduate of Indiana Pennsylvania Teacher's College and a long-time primary grade school teacher in Wilson and Elizabeth Forward schools. She had an amazing musical gift. She had the ability to play a song on the piano simply by hearing it and she proudly carried the Alto part of the chorus even when not singing as part of a choir. Some of her musical favorites included George Gershwin and Nat King Cole.
She loved to travel, from childhood trips to Wildwood NJ, camping escapades, to an elaborate Alaskan cruise. The destination mattered less to Betty, it was more about enjoying the company of her friends and family.
She also enjoyed many types of crafting such as crewel embroidery, knitting, and scrapbooking memories. Betty faithfully kept the family holiday traditions and recipes alive by making potato donuts, shortbread and other favorite Christmas cookies and date pudding. Betty's love for her family will be remembered by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 20, 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home 301 Curry Hollow Rd. Pittsburgh, PA 15236. All are welcome to attend. A blessing service for Betty will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel.
