Betty Lou Adams (Wisser)'s Obituary
Age 85, of West Mifflin. On Saturday morning, June 16, 2018, Betty Lou Adams went home to be with her Lord and Savior, passing away peacefully at home in the presence of her loving sons and daughters-in-law. Born Lois Elizabeth Wisser on December 9, 1932, to the late John and Elizabeth (O’Neal) Wisser of McKeesport, she soon embraced her family’s childhood nickname of ‘Betty Lou’ as her own. She was a 1950 graduate of McKeesport High School and a 1954 Registered Nurse graduate of Braddock General Hospital. After graduation, she continued her career at Braddock Hospital on the IV Team, worked as a skilled nursing charge nurse at Willis Center in Homestead, and additionally worked part-time on weekends at Southwestern Nursing Care Center in West Mifflin and other private duty assignments. But to all that knew her well, her favorite and most rewarding time on this Earth was raising and spending time with her two boys. She was a talented, strong, compassionate, selfless and courageous woman and she will be greatly missed. Betty Lou is survived by her two sons, Edward (Michele) of North Huntingdon, and Brian (Margie) of Pittsburgh; and a grandson, Edward Jr.; her brother John (late Joyce) Wisser of Tiffin, OH; and many loving members of her extended family and friends. Besides her parents, Betty Lou was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Edward F. Adams and her brother, Robert Wisser. Betty Lou’s family would like to thank the staff from Three Rivers Hospice for their love and care throughout this difficult time. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2-4 & 6-9 PM at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills, PA 15236. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 20, at 11:30 AM in the funeral home chapel. Entombment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Park.
