Bernard (Bud) Ligouri's Obituary
Bernard A. “Bud” Ligouri, age 87, of Pleasant Hills, entered into eternal rest on July 15, 2017. Bud was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marina Ligouri, his sister, Jean Ann Waldschmidt, and his parents Dominic and Anna Ligouri; he is survived by many nieces and nephews. Bernard distinguished himself by meritorious service in the Korean War, as Sergeant First Class of the 160th Infantry Regiment, 40th Infantry Division where his exemplary performance and dedication earned him the Purple Heart. His highly commendable attitude and outstanding ingenuity won him the respect and admiration of superiors and subordinates alike – both on and off the battlefield. His unwavering diligence continued when he returned home, where he and his wife owned a successful business, Colonial Motor Parts for 35 years. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, July 23rd from 4 to 7 at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pleasant Hills, 15236. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 24th at 10a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church.
