Bernard H. Grimm's Obituary
Bernard H. Grimm, age 88, of Baldwin, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 5, 2023, in the comfort of his own home while surrounded by his loving family. Bernard was born in Pittsburgh on January 3, 1935, the son of the late Bernard and Diana Grimm.
Bernard enjoyed a long career with Mesta Machine for over 25 years. Following the closing of Mesta, he went on to work at Mount Lebanon Baptist Church as a custodian.
Bernard was a skilled handyman, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His ability to fix anything made him a cherished member of his community. His love for cars was evident in the meticulous bodywork he performed.
He had a great love for the outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, or camping. His love for nature extended to his beautiful garden, where he nurtured a variety of plants, with his tomato plants being his favorite to share with family and friends.
In his free time, Bernard enjoyed trips to the casinos alongside his wife, with Las Vegas being his favorite destination. He was an animal lover, with a special fondness for Beagles. His pets were his family, and he loved them with all his heart. Above all, his greatest joy in life was the time spent with his family.
Bernard was the beloved husband of 67 years to Barbara (Delmanto) Grimm; the loving father of Barbara Namachar (Donald) and Bernard M. Grimm (Cathy); grandfather of Barbarajo (Steve), Amy (Zachary), Nicole (Sam), and Brad (Julie); and the great grandfather of Dean, Darin, Devin, Bryson, Mason, Dorian, and Reese. Bernard also leaves a sister, Pearl Altenhof.
In addition to his parents, Bernard was predeceased by his brothers, Frederick, Charles, and Donald.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation on Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A short prayer service will be held at the conclusion of visitation at 8:00 pm. Burial will be held privately.
