Bennett Thomas Kulus' Obituary
Bennett Thomas Kulus, 23, of West Mifflin, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 6, 2023. Bennett was born on February 8, 2000, in McKeesport, the beloved son of Thomas and Jacqueline (Barr) Kulus.
Bennett graduated from West Mifflin Area High School in 2018. He went on to further his education at CCAC South Campus where he received his associate degree. He was currently employed at Lowe’s Home Improvement.
Bennett was an avid gamer, especially liking retro Nintendo and PlayStation. He also loved music, mostly hair metal, and gameshows. Bennett was a movie buff who enjoyed anything including his favorite actor, Tom Cruise, and thought Top Gun: Maverick was the perfect movie, his favorite. He never turned down a meal with family or friends where they knew he would order a bacon cheeseburger or wings, no matter the restaurant.
He dreamed of living in Alaska one day, as he preferred winter to summer. He was down to earth and believed in leading an ordinary life, as he knew the things that were to be cherished most were the small and simple moments.
Bennett was selfless, brave and caring, with a deep compassion for others. He will be remembered by those who knew him as someone who had a great sense of humor (and always had the best memes). He was always willing to help anyone who needed a hand, and never complained about any circumstance. Bennett will be deeply missed by those who loved him and those whose lives were touched by his kind soul.
In addition to his parents, Bennett is survived by his two brothers, Ethan and Tanner Kulus; the family dog, Bandit, who Bennett lovingly called “Chunky Kielbasa”; his grandmother, Constance (Jerry) Dombrosky and grandparents, Dave and Margie Barr; aunts and uncles, Dave and Londonne Barr, Jim and Cindy Capell, and Bryan and Marie Krasneski; as well as many cousins. Bennett also leaves his best friend, Thomas Walker.
He was predeceased by his grandfather, Thomas M. Kulus, his aunt, Pam Brown, and his cousin, Ryan Barr.
Services and burial will be private and have been entrusted to Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home.
In honor of Bennett- be kind, don’t hold grudges, and don’t sweat the small stuff.
“Stay Gold.” – The Outsiders, Bennett’s favorite book.
